General information

What is ExpressMailGuard?

ExpressMailGuard is an email aliasing and inbox protection service that allows you to create disposable email addresses—known as aliases—to control how messages are forwarded, and instantly stop spam or abuse-without exposing your real email address.

How does ExpressMailGuard work?

ExpressMailGuard works alongside the inbox you already use. It works with any email provider and any device, because it forwards mail to wherever you want it to land. When a site asks for your email, you give it an alias. That alias becomes the only address the service interacts with.

When someone emails that alias, ExpressMailGuard receives the message and passes it through its secure relay layer. This layer acts as a privacy shield. It strips away the direct link to your identity before forwarding the message to your personal inbox.

How do I get ExpressMailGuard?

ExpressMailGuard is available as part of ExpressVPN’s tiered plans and stays active for as long as your VPN subscription stays active.

Check your ExpressVPN account for details based on your specific plan.

Does ExpressMailGuard store my emails?

Once a message is successfully delivered to your destination inbox, it is immediately deleted from our system.

However, you can enable ExpressMailGuard to temporarily store failed delivery attempts. Doing so ensures that emails are not lost if they are rejected by your recipients, as they can be downloaded from the Failed Deliveries page. Failed deliveries are automatically deleted after 7 days.

I verified my email with a “+” in it, but replies don’t work. Why?

Some email providers (like Gmail) treat “+” addresses as aliases of your main email address.

Even if the “+” address is verified, replies are sent from your main email.

To reply successfully, your main email address must also be verified in ExpressMailGuard.
